Hey everyone,
This is Andy Pantz, just jumping in quickly from the "Sports" and "Movies" sections to share a little love for the boob tube. Anyway, I was just wondering what everyone's all-time favorite TV show was.
For me, hands down it's The Wonder Years.
That show was, and will always be, phenomanal for me. The nostalgic blend of humor and heart sewn into the thirty minute episodes always kept me laughing and thinking.
I mean, who could forget that voice-over narrative that sparked so many of my favorite quotes. Pearls of wisdom, my friends. Pearls of wisdom. In fact, do a google search sometime for "Wonder Years quotes" and I'm sure you'll at least find one gem to keep in your memory banks.
On top of that, the characters were tremendous. Not only was the main charactor of Kevin Arnold a superb representation of universal youthful angst, dreams, and heart ache, but the show's supporting cast was equally important in some way. You had Jack, the loud, hard-working dad; Paul, the nerdy friend; Wayne, the insanely annoying older brother and...of course, Winnie FREAKIN' Cooper (aka the adolecent fantasies of 102% of the teen population of my time).
She may have been flatter than a pankake, but, boy, was she pretty.
Kevin's pursuit of Winnie throughout the years was something that I think a lot of guys I've hung out with could identify with. "The average boy longing for the beautiful girl" has never been written so truthfully since.
Anyway, I just wish this damn show would come out on DVD soon. Here we have Xena and Rugrats and Star Trek: Deep Space Whatever...but no Kevin and Winnie.
What a shame. Oh well, at least there's always YouTube!

i totally agree with you. wonder years was my absolute favorite show when i was younger.
not to mention, i was called winnie for a few years when i was little, because of a striking resemblence. i also had the biggest crush on kevin!
The wonder years was great. I'll never forget the time that Kevin was supposed to get a ride home from Wayne, and everytime he tried to get in the car Wayne kept pulling forward and looking back and laughing at Kevin. So true to life. What older sibling/reletaive hasn't done that to another.
